So not only is Isabella working but Mr. Noah was recently signed to Isabella's agent as well. Out of like 30 little bity ones only 5 were signed & Noah was one of them. He marched right into his interview, recited the commerical he'd memorized & proceeded to tell Ruth (agent) that she should buy in "the black, green, yellow, white & pink Power Rangers!" she laughed & came right out to tell me he was ready to work. Misty took Isabella & Noah's pics for their comp cards & wow! Here are just a few teasers.

Halloween 2009

What a fun night! First we started out at Uncle Noels. All the cousins got ready together putting on their ghouly gear & walking shoes, ready to hit the hood. Noah of course wore his Captain America costume already a million times but it didn't loose it's meaning. Bella was the cutest pirate on the block & LOVED getting to wear makeup even if it wasn't pretty. And Andrew...can you say GROOOOOOOOVY BABY?! The coolest hippie around. Our precious little Maggie Moo was a pretty little ladybug. She didn't quite understand why daddy & mommy looked so silly but she was a great sport anyway. I was dressed like a scarey doll & daddy...well...he was "THE MOST INTERESTING MAN IN THE WORLD" the Dos Equis guy. Can you say FAKE TAN?!

After some Trick or Treating at Uncle Noel's we headed to the Fisher's. Awaiting us was a bon fire, hay rides, an outdoor movie, more trick or treating & lots of yummy food. We were joined by Aunt Heidy, Tiana, Monique, Uncle William & Tia Marta (who happen to be visiting) & our course all our Fisher & Cope friends.

Today Maggie had surgery...again...Thankfully just outpatient. We got to the hospital & I felt so bad because she started screaming & wouldn't stop. It was like she knew what was about to happen. Finally we got into the play area of pre-op & she calmed down. She loves any toy that makes noise. Shortly after Maggs had her 2 best fans there to support her, Grandma Mimi & Grandma Mary. LUCKY GIRL!

Dr. Mancuso went back in to cut the tongue again. He said that this time he was more aggressive & really cut deep to ensure that we don't have to do it again. After he was done Dr. Argueso went in to do a scope of the kidneys & remove the stints placed after her ureter reimplementation. Between both surgeries they were done w/ in about 35 minutes. Pretty quick & easy.

Maggie woke up in not so good a mood & after a little throwing up fell fast asleep in mommy's arms. I'm amazed at how much this precious child can handle. I know if I were her I'd not like mama & daddy all that much :) A little more throwing up after picking up Noah from Papa & Mimi's but after that she did great. Mr. Noah always makes her feel all better! Uncle Noel, Heather & Wyatt came over to visit & of course Maggs loved the attention. Bella & Noah didn't mind hanging out w/ Wyatt either.

Andrew went to a Wii Bowling Tournament for the 6th graders at church. HE WON 1st Place & got lots of free stuff for Amazing Jakes. Talented dude!

I'm so blessed

I'm so blessed to be able to stay home w/ my kids. Money is tight yes, but I think it's worth it. This morning I got to go out in the cool of the day & have a breakfast picnic w/ all 4 of my kids. Thank you Stephen for working so hard to make this possible for Andrew, Isabella, Noah & Maggie. I love you!

Andrew catches his first bass!!!!

Grandpa Rick has always be a great fisherman. He did it professionally for years & has had the joy of buying a boat & getting back on the water. Well, he's taken Andrew at least a dozen times & for some reason when the fish know Andrew is near they scatter. It must be in his blood, he's gonna be a pro just like Grandpa! Well in all those times he's never had any luck until today. He caught this lovely bass as well as another one. Too much Mercury in the water to eat it but he had a blast catching him. What a great grandpa you have Andrew!

Korbin is my princess

Today Noah got to spend the ENTIRE day w/ his best buddy Korbin. He was so excited last night when I told him that Korbin was picking him up in the morning. He said "Mom...Korbin's my best friend. He's my princess!" "Noah, boys are not princesses, just girls." "No mom, he's my boy princess!" How cute is that?! Karen & Korbin came to pick him up this morning at 9:30. During that time Daddy & I were able to run some errands & went out to a nice lunch w/ Maggie Moo. She sat up in a highchair & didn't even get tired. What a big girl!

Andrew & Isabella had early release today so they got to spend a little time w/ Dad before he was off to work at the restraunt. When Karen dropped him off he wore the fun day on his face. Korbin ended up staying so that David & Karen could go to dinner & a movie. The boys were so exhausted by 6pm that they started fighting & crying every 2 seconds. Andrew & Bella decided to distract the boys by playing "Underwear Man...(woman)"..it worked!

After I picked Isabella up from Ballet & Jazz we went to Papa & Mimi's to celebrate Aunt Heidy & Aunt Lilly's Birthday. The whole family was there ready to party. Even Georgie & Rene were able to make it!

Dad & Andrew didn't make it cause it was Andrew's first soccer practice. Dad said Andrew did awesome! Can't wait to see him at practice on Thursday night.

Kidney Surgery

I'm writing this & Maggie is in surgery right this moment. I'm trying not be too anxious & rely on the Philipians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

So we woke up really early this morning to get ready for Maggie's big day. Of course Maggie was in great spirits as always. We arrived at here to Phoenix Children's Hospital at 5:30am. Once we got checked in Maggie got in her gown & she was out playing in the waiting room. Grandpa Rick, Grandma Mary & Aunt Chrissy were here to pray w/ us before Maggie went in. Unfortunately Dr. Mancuso, Maggie's ENT didn't show so no tongue surgery. I hate that we gotta postpone that but what can I do? So here are a few pics of Maggs before surgery. Will post more as she gets out.

A very scarey day!

Uncle Noel had been complaining of some pressure in his head & thought he had a sinus infection. After a couple of weeks on pain meds & anti-biotics, he wasn't getting better. Heather took him to the Emergency Room at St. Joe's last night & they admitted him ASAP in the ICU. Being as how Uncle Noel had a brain tumor 17 years ago the doctors were very scared about what all this would mean. We were told that this surgery would be more dangerous & threatening than the last one so many years ago. Well being as how he had only a 20% chance of survival last time obviously the odds were worse now. Of course the family came together & through fear & hope we turned the only place to turn...God! After almost 24 hours of preparing for another open surgery one doctor came in w/ a shred of HOPE! We were told they might be able to go in w/ a scope & remove the mass that way. Praying & continuing to believe for a miracle. We won't know anything until Tuesday...Of course that's when Maggs goes in for her surgery!

Noah begins preschool...again...

Noah was so excited to start back up at Debbie's house. It was all he could talk about for 2 days. I love it when I have Blackmail on my kids! Today he learned that "E" is for Elmo & he got 2 Elmo books to help him remember. After preschool w/ Debbie is was lunch w/ Aunt Heidy & Rene at Native New Yorker for $.35 wings. YUMMY!

This girl is crazy! I know if my belly just sliced open I'd be a total grouch but not this girl. She was sitting up & playing by afternoon. We even went for a walk in a wagon down to the cafeteria so mom could grab some dinner! She took clear fluids first & then we started her on her milk. She slept throught he night w/ no issues. Just amazing! By 8pm Maggie was ready to go & she was handing me her discharge paperwork. What a doll!

2nd Grade & Surgery

So I had a big decision to make & know that I did the right thing. Mom just couldn't dedicate 100% of my attention to Isabella's education & that's what she deserves. So, after a long discussion & some shopping (that makes me feel better too) Isabella agreed to start school. We enrolled her in Andrew's school, American Leadership Academy. Isabella looked so beautiful in her uniform & was actaully in great spirits to meet her new teacher, Mrs. Ward & new classmates. Daddy & I were so happy to get to take her to school on her first day. The moment we walked Isabella in her new class she already had one little girl approach her & ask if she wanted to be friends. This year seems very promising!

After we dropped Isabella off we were on our way to the hospital for Maggie's "G Tube" surgery. We arrived at 10am for noon surgery. They were so great at getting us back & ready quickly. Of course Grandma Mary was there to hold Maggie's hand & love on her before. It was so great because the Anestegiologist allowed all 3 of us back to pray for Maggie & the doctors while they were putting her to sleep. As we stepped out into the waiting room Grandma looked at daddy & I and with her eyes wet w/ tears she told us a really precious story. She said that the last time she saw her mother before she died that she had one tear that rolled down her right cheek. Well as Grandma was walking out of the operating room Maggie too had one tear coming down the same check. She said that her mother was there telling her that Maggie would be just fine. That just made me & daddy so happy & gave us such peace!

Maggie's surgery only lasted about an hour & the doctors came out & said that she did great! They said that Maggs has such a long torso & that they were able to put the "button" in the perfect place. Now time to recover & get some rest. We should be
released either today or tomorrow.

Desert Schools Commercial

So today Isabella had her first commercial. We arrived on set at 7am where breakfast burritos & strawberries where awaiting us. Isabella was 1 of 3 actors including, Alex Cuervo (her on-set daddy) & Larry Fitzgerald. YES, Larry Fitzgerald, Wide Receiver for the Arizona Cardinals. Of course when Andrew heard there was a chance of meeting Larry he was all about coming to support his sister. While we waited for Isabella to finish w/ hair & makeup we waited in the "cast" trailer. Isabella played a little girl learning how to ride her bike w/ daddy's full support. The morning was hot but for the most part was a huge success. The Director & Executive Producer both said Isabella did great & would definitely hire her again. The Desert Schools Federal Credit Union commerical will air in the next couple of weeks for 6 1/2 months!

Today Karen cut off Andrew's curls. He starts school on August 5th at a very strict Academy & unfortunately they don't allow long hair on boys. The thought was making me literally sick. Of course Karen did a great job & when she was done I cried. Not tears of regret but tears of my youth. Andrew sat in the chair & looked so old. I just kept thinking how crazy it was that he is gonna be 12 next month. AHHHHHH...my baby's all grown up :(

Celebrating the 4th

What a great idea dad had. He was totally insistant on taking you guys to Tempe Town Lake to see the fireworks. Noah was especially excited so around 5pm we packed up the car & headed to the hotel we reserved for the night. Figured we'd park the car & walk down to the lake & then be able to spend the day at the pool hotel the next day. Glad we did too. The fireworks show was so awesome! It was one of the best displays I've seen. You guys stayed interested for about 20 minutes this year & then the heat started to get to all of you.

That night Maggie got sick again & Noah didn't want to go to bed. That's the one thing that's so hard about a hotel. I hate feeling like we are disturbing others. Finally Noah & Maggs hit the hay and we all got some much needed rest. The next morning we ordered to go from Denny's & then were off to the pool. What a nice restfull day it was although totally hot!

It really is ridiculous in the summer here. I think next year we're gonna start a new tradition of going to Coronado Island!

Papa & Mimi just had their 40 year wedding anniversary & to help them celebrate we all spent the weekend at the Point Hilton @ Squaw Peak in Phoenix. What an amazing accomplishment & example they have set before us! This was a great weekend of games, swimming & family fun! Friday night after a great first night at the pool we ordered pizza in & played Gestures & Rummey. We all had so much fun but of course my "gestures" were the best! I swear I should've been an actress...

Saturday we were off to the pool to enjoy the slide, waterfalls & lazy river! The Torres Family (Uncle Gabe, Aunt Julie, Sammuel & Lisa) and the Falberg Family (Uncle Rod, Aunt Lilly & Nathan) came out to enjoy the day too. Unfortunately daddy couldn't get his shift covered so he couldn't attend the big dinner that night. We all went around the table & paid our tribute to Papa & Mimi. After the yummy dinner Papa & Mimi treated us all to Dairy Queen. YUMMY! Sunday was more fun, goofy golfing & hanging out by the pool. Noah had to go down the slide at least 10 times each day we were there & didn't get scared at all. He was so brave. Andrew & Bella couldn't get enough of the Lazy River. That actually surprises me due to the fact that you actually relax on that. Maggie just enjoyed getting out of the hot sun & playing in the water. We all played a game of volleyball in the pool & as always, daddy kicked butt!

Today Maggie had to get the Deflux procedure. Because of her kidney reflux Maggie has been on antibiotics since she was born. At a year old they did a VCUG (insert dye into bladder) to see if the reflux corrected itself & unfortunately it didn't. For this procedure they had to put Maggie out & went in w/ a scope to insert a paste to try & fix the problem. We thought the procedure would take an hour & they were out in literally like 20 minutes. Grandma Mary, Uncle Noel & Heather were there to show their support. Dr Argueso said everything went really well & all we have to do is wait. Maggie did great & woke up happy. We all were even able to go get something to eat in the cafeteria. Pretty quick & easy!

We will do another VCUG in 3 months & if it doesn't work we will have to do the full kindey surgery. I've heard that it is extremely painful & will require weeks of recovery. Here's hoping!

A cause to celebrate!

After a long Friday night of cleaning Georgie's backyard & preparing food for 65 people the long awaited celebration was upon us. Both Grandma Mary & Grandma Mimi showed up nice early to Georgie's house on Saturday morning to turn her already gorgeous backyard, into a HOPE inspired haven. As 4 o'clock rolled around & I finally had a moment to take a deep breath & look around, I was so blessed to see how amazing everything looked & how many people were there to celebrate the life of Maggie. God is so good.

We started the dedication by daddy & I saying a few words about what the past year & a half were like for us. How we so desperately had to rely on God's word to make it through & how he had yet leave our side in the midst of adversity. Then Papa prayed & everyone there blessed our precious Birthday Girl. Maggie looked so beautiful in the dress that Papa & Mimi brought her back from Colombia. She was a "VISION" in white. Dad then played the most amazing slideshow displaying pics of our journey through Maggie's 1st year. I swear there was not a dry eye watching. It was so beautiful & really touched so many people. Daddy's hard work really paid off!

After the dedication everyone enjoyed the yummy food, the refreshing pool & the bouncy jumper (Thanks Bouncy Bouncy Inflatables)! Dwayne & Georgie were good enough to lend us their beautiful home for the party & people just loved it.

Maggie didn't do so great w/ the cake at first. She tends to be little "iffy" about things on her hands so it took her a minute to really get into the idea of mushing up the cake that Monique made her. Not so interested in eating it though. Maggs was super blessed w/ a ton of presents too.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate w/ us, The Miracle of Maggie. And a special thanks to all the family that came from out of town: Aunt Esperanza (even w/ the flu!), Uncle James, Aunt Laura, Uncle Bryant, Aunt Jaz & Christina.

So Maggie's big Birthday Party & Dedication are this Saturday. I needed to take a breather & relax before the BIG weekend so, we headed to the pool w/ Papa & Mimi & the cousins. Always so fun!

About 10:30 my doorbell rings & in walk the Edwards Family, Uncle Bryant, Aunt Jaz & Christina! What a wonderful surprise!!!!! I never expected them to come. They loved all over Maggie & were so happy to finally meet her. I know she felt the same way :)

My precious baby girl turned 1 today. What a day too! We had to be at Phoenix Children's Hospital today at 8:30am for a Swallow Clinic. She met w/ a Speach Pathologist, a Pulmonologist & then a GI. All said that Maggie is looking good but to be prepared for her needing a "G" Tube. YUCK! NO NO NO! She got a X-Ray of her tummy too & then we headed to her Orthotist to discuss her helmet. She said that we would probably have to keep it on until she's about 18 months old. Poor Maggie!

From a Daisy to a Brownie

Tonight was Isabella's last night as a Daisy. We celebrated w/ her troop at Bounce U. The girls had so much fun on the bouncers & slides. They received awards, patches & the prizes they won from selling Girl Scout Cookies. Bella loved hanging w/ her buddies Rhyan & Addy the best. I had fun hanging w/ the other mommies & bouncing some too!

Mother's Day

What a nice day it was! Started off at church & then headed straight to Uncle Noel's for an amazing brunch. The guys were hard at work & us ladies didn't have to lift a finger. It was awesome. Of course when all the kiddos are together there's never a dull moment. Vivian & Maggie were just as precious as ever while Miles was just trying to keep up w/ the big kids. Noah loves that he can now sit a the big kid table w/ Andrew, Bella & Wyatt. What fun these days bring.

From there we were off to Aunt Heidy's house for even more fun, this time a BBQ & pool party. Talk about never a dull moment...now that Uncle Gabe & his family moved here the noise level has increased at all of our family gatherings. That's ok, the more the merrier & it's so great to finally have them here.

Long day for Maggie & Mommy

Today Maggie had a long day ahead of her. We started our day off w/ Ms. Connie & Occupational Therapy. Maggie did so good today & really tolerated a lot. She did awesome on tummy time & even layed on Noah's new bouncy ball.From there we headed to Phoenix Children's Hospital were Maggie was given a VCUG. It's kind of like a dye test to see if her kidney's are still refluxing. Maggie looked so cute in her hospital gown & as always was such a trooper. I am always so amazed at how strong & easy going she is. She cried a little but after about 10 minutes she was back to her totally "chill" self. I love that girl so much & am proud to be her mommy! From there we headed to Dr. Argueso's (Urologist) office for an ultrasound of her kidney's & bladder & discuss the results of both tests. Unfortunately my baby does need surgery. Dr. Argueso said that he had hoped she would have out-grown the reflux but she hasn't. Luckily we are going to do the closed surgery first which means no cutting. It's an hour procedure where they enter her Urethra. 2 months post surgery we will go back for another VCUG & ultrasound & if things have not gotten better then we need to do the open surgery. This is not ideal because they have to cut her tummy & there is quite a long recovery process. We'll be praying as a family that Maggie will do well w/ this first surgery. God has yet to let us down. Thank You Jesus!

SHIVER ME TIMBERS...NOAH IS 3!

We celebrated Mr. Noah's 3rd Birthday last night w/ a pirate themed birthday party at the park down the street. What a success it was too! All of Noah's best buddies were there to help us celebrate. The kids jumped in a bouncer, played on the playground & some even swam.

Noah got so many great gifts & to top it off daddy pulled out the best gift of all...a red Schwin tricylce. When it was time to sing Happy Birthday to Noah he sang to himself. What a cutie. He was so excited about his gifts that he barely even had enough interest in eating his cake! Now as far as the best dressed of the night, Korbin & Wyatt won. They looked incredible!

Once we got the party cleaned up & headed home, I had to stay up w/ Noah until almost 11pm to try on his awesome Batman wings & put his puzzles together. Happy Birthday baby!

Rocky Point '09

So daddy & I took our annual trip to Rocky Point. It's so nice to get away & regain our sanity. We had such a great time w/ Brian, Eva & of course the tag-a-long Rob. That guy just doesn't get the clue when enough is enough. LOL! Of course daddy bought shrimp & bass and did some AWESOME BBQing. Wow! Some of the best dinners we've had in Mexico! We hung out at all our favorite places including Manny's, JJ's, Flavio's & a new place Boo Bar. We met some new characters this weekend too. Jose from Boo Bar, our hotel manager Leo & his crazy friends Miguel & George.

We happened to go down to Mexico the week the Swine Flu breaks out too! Man we got lucky there. Thank God we all feel fine.

Bella works!

Today we had to be at the Desert Ridge Marriot at 6am which meant 4am wakeup. Isabella was wide-eyed & ready to go. The photo shoot is a nation-wide campaign for the Marriot Kids Club featuring Nickelodeon. Isabella had a lot of fun & met some new friends today. She got paid to hula hoop, play tag & get pampered. What a life! Did I mention the hula hoop. I didn't even know she knew how & there she was doing 2 at a time & for longer than 2 minutes each time! What a big girl. What a fun day.

Tillman Run

Daddy's been training for only a couple months but has been working really hard to get ready. Too bad he woke up a couple days ago w/ a cold given by none other than Noah Hector. He was bound & determined to run anyway so me & Isabella got up early to support him. Andrew spent the night at Harrison's & Noah and Maggs at Papa & Mimi's. There were so many people there ready to run for the cause. Daddy looked great in his shirt & had special words for Maggie printed on the back, "HOPE 4 MAG". He said it was so he could carry her on his back. What an amazing daddy you guys have. He ran 4 miles & did it under his goal of 30 minutes & came in 497 out of 13,ooo runner! I'm so impressed. Too bad he's totally sick now & feels like his chest is gonna explode.

Happy Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny is so smart! He always knows exactly what the kids need. They each got a new bathing suit, pool towel & pair of goggles. Of course lots of candy & misc fun toys were also included.

We started the moring off right. Daddy sat you all down on the couch & explained the real meaning of Easter. Noah didn't care much for the explanation & was much more interested in his candy. I think he ate his entire box of Peeps in about 2 minutes. Nothing like sugar coated marshmellows for breakfast. But, it was really neat how Andrew & Isabella listened & really understood.

After church we headed to Grandma Mary & Grandpa Rick's house for as always, a YUMMY meal followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. Andrew's getting a little old this year & said he wanted to help hide all the eggs with the exception of the plastic ones w/ money. Angel told him that if he was still young he'd be looking. Of course the advice of an older boy is all Andrew needed. Isabella as always rocked & was all over the yard. This was the first year Noah really understood what to do & boy was he good. He actually found more than Isabella & quicker. Not just the easy eggs either. I was very impressed. Miles & Wyatt had fun looking for eggs too while Vivi napped on the couch. It was Maggie & Vivian's 1st Easter & boy did they both look amazing! What precious new additions to our family. The table seems to be getting bigger every year.

My favorite part of the day thus far was looking outside & seeing daddy resting in the grass w/ Ms. Maggie on his knee. It was so beautiful I had to grab the camera.

After dinner & fun we headed over to Papa & Mimi's house for dessert & even more fun. Papa & Monique went out & hid eggs all over the park. It's so funny how when Aunt Heidy & I were kids we never did things like egg hunts & now that Papa's doing it w/ you guys, he gets sooooo into it. It's really cute! Of course Aunt Heidy & Tiana helped you guys find your eggs while Grandma Mimi adored Miss Maggie Moo. Nothing is better than hanging out w/ our family on the Holidays & celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice!

Another party for Bella

How many times can 1 child celebrate her Birthday? Tonight the entire family came over to celebrate. Even Rene & the boys came over. Miss Sarah, mommy's helper came to say "Happy Birthday" too! Bella is so lucky to have such a big family that loves & spoils her rotten. She got so much cute stuff. It's gonna be fun playing dress up w/ her Hannah Montana wig that Uncle Noel, Heather, Angel & Wyatt got her. We could've totally used that for the other party!

Painting Eggs

So we painted our Easter Eggs today. I think Noah & dad had the most fun. Andrew painted maybe 5 & was bored! He's getting so big & too fast. Noah on the other hand finished his in about 10 minutes! He was so excited to paint them that he hardly let the color process before he was taking them out of the dye. He was so proud that he had to make sure each one of us admired his works of art! Bella's getting old enough now to get really creative with her eggs, various colors & prints. She did such a good job. Of course daddy, super creative, made the most awesome eggs again this year. He even got Maggie to paint her first egg. He's a pro.

Last night 8 of Isabella's friends came over to celebrate her 7th B-day. We all headed to the Drive-In theater to watch "Hannah Montana the Movie". Daddy had to work so luckily Aunt Heidy, Tiana & Monique were there to help. I threw about 30 pillows & blankets in the back of Uncle Noel's truck & the girls kept warm despite the crazy wind. In fact, about half way through the movie they began to kick off their blankets!

Before the movie started Isabella opened up her presents & we had cupcakes that we had made & frosted earlier in the day. The girls all had plenty of candy, popcorn & juice boxes to keep them all happy. The movie & the Drive-In were a big hit!

Afterward we came home & got 9 little girls ready for bed, the girls all watched "The Game Plan" until they passed out. This morning daddy surprised all the girls w/ donuts & we had a lip synching & dancing contest. Overall Isabella's party was a Blast!

Tonight we have all of our family coming over to celebrate some more! How fun!

Vivian Rose enters the world

The day has finally arrived, my beautiful niece, Miss Vivian Rose has made her appearance. She was born Monday night, March 16th at 10:27pm.
She weighs 6 lbs 7 oz, and is 20 1/2 in long. She is just a beauty, is
already eating well, burping well and was able to go home yesterday to nestle
into her normal life as the baby sister.

Chris was such a champ! She was told after she was checked in that her blood platelet count was low & that she was going to have to deliver without an epidural. She was so scared but after many tears she faced her biggest fear. She delivered so fast that her doctor didn't even make it & the nurses delivered her. I am so proud of the woman she is!

No More Cuts

Yesterday the kids & I attended a rally at the State Capital w/ Grandma Mary & Aunt Chrissy. The rally was a small protest against the budget cuts that our new Governor, Jan Brewer has put into place. It's just absolutely insane & heartless! I just feel that if our Governor was directly affected by this, these cut wouldn't have been made at all. How frustrating is it that she spend $200K on a stage for her Inauguration. That's 4 therapists salaries for a year! Why all these cuts? ALL therapies for kids have been completely cut unless, the child is on Long Term Care! Long Term Care, ACCHS is a program for kids w/ multiple medical problems. Thankfully, Maggie is was qualified for Long Term Care after she was born. She is good until her 1st birthday & then will be back up for review. With all of these cuts I'm just putting my hope in God that he will show her favor! Eva gave me a special word that "Faith is the opposite of fear." So, I will not be fearful but I will trust in the Lord. He hasn't let us down yet.

So back to the rally. We got there around 11am & since it's right down the way from daddy's work, he came out to meet us for a little. We held our signs, one that said: "Please don't cut my therapies" & one that said, "My sister matters!" We walked in a circle on the front steps of the Capital & my big boy Noah held his sign as we all shouted "NO MORE CUTS!" "NO MORE CUTS!" He was so cute & all excited to be a part of it all even though really didn't know what the heck was going on. Andrew & Isabella we amazing too. It was such a great lesson for them. On the way we discussed the rights that we have as American Citizens. That we have the right to free speech & what an amazing country we live in. I talked to them about how even though we disagree w/ the Governor we have to submit to her authority & respect her. It was a great opportunity for me to explain about the Bible & how God is our Supreme Authority. At 1:30 we were able to attend the meeting of the House of Representatives. We only got to stay for a bit cause Noah & Miles started to get fussy but at least they got to see it. It was so neat to see where these laws are passed. All in All yesterday was a great day!

New House, New School and Surgery

NEW HOUSE

We've moved! We've been in the new house now for almost 2 weeks & are almost done unpacking. I've finally even started putting stuff on the walls. This house is so great! It's only about 2oo square feet larger but man, it's such a better fit! We actually have storage! AHHHHHH! For a family of 6 with a mom (yep, that's me) that's a pack rat...We need all the storage we can get. My Stephen finally has an organized garage! The kids are so happy because they actually have a backyard to play in & I have a linen closet & a walk-in pantry! Thank the Lord!!!!

So, the cat's outta the bag!? I'm the teacher! When I was little I always said that I wanted to be a Doctor or a Teacher & now I'm both! We started home schooling a little over 2 weeks ago & it's going great! It really is a HUGE undertaking but I love it. I feel like I have so much more patience with the kids & now I know exactly what they are being taught. Last night Stephen & Andrew worked on a Science experiment & made their own water filtration system w/ muddy water, dirt, bleach, rocks & other goodies. Isabella, Noah & I danced around the house to learn the tempo & beat of music. I really feel like I'm bonding in such a special way with the kids. It's been so amazing!

SURGERY

Just days after moving into the house & beginning our homeschooling Maggie had her first surgery. Just a couple minor ones but still a very long day for our precious girl! Maggie had to get an EEG, MRI, Tubes in her ears & Ankyloglossia Surgery (clip her tongue). Maggie's Neurologist, Dr. Teodori ordered the EEG to make sure she's not having seizures & the MRI to get better pics of her brain. We had to be at Phoenix Children's Hospital at 9am & that was her last meal for the day. I was so afraid that she would be starving & fussy all day but she was such a trooper. I swear she is the strongest child I've ever seen! Her EEG was scheduled for 10am but of course didn't begin until 11. Luckily daddy had a 1/2 day & caught the tale end of it. The EEG is where they put those funny thing all over her head to measure her brain waves. The pics really make it look worse than it is! After that we got to have lunch together in the cafeteria & then were headed back for her MRI. This is the moment I've been dreading for months. ANESTHESIA! They were gonna take her from MRI (Radiology) to the OR to put tubes in her ears & to clip her tongue. It was so hard to see Maggie go under. The Anesthesiologist said that she would go through a little spasm before she completely fell asleep & that's when I lost it! Her little hangs clenched up & her whole body stiffened! OMG! It was horrible! We waited in the waiting room for about an hour & a half. Her ENT Dr. Mancuso came out & said that she did AMAZING! We were so proud of our little girl!

Papa & Mimi are home!

Noah & I went to pick up Papa & Mimi at the airport tonight. Andrew, Bella & Maggie stayed home w/ Aunt Heidy & Monique & anxiously waited for us & Maggie had a treatment. Papa & Mimi have been gone since before Christmas so everyone is sooooo excited to see them. Especially Noah! He misses his Papa so much! Once we picked them up we all went to ice cream at Sonic. Poor Maggie had to stay in the car in the warmth. Of course Andrew brought his football & played w/ Papa, Monique & Noah in the parking lot. Bella tried to play but Andrew turned the game into keep away. Poor Bella Boo! Daddy had to work tonight so he didn't get to join us.

Maggie had to go to the Dr today cause she's just not feeling well. She's been breathing really heavy & coughing a lot. The Dr. said that she has the beginning stages of RSV & another set of dual ear infections. They sent us home w/ breathing treatments that seem to be really helping a lot.

Miss Mary from FBC came over today & worked w/ Maggie on her vision & motor skills. Maggie still really HATES tummy time! Obviously she's not feeling too well either so she was extra fussy today. Noah couldn't help but spy on us from the top of the stairs.

Daddy's day off

We woke up this morning to Noah being such a booger! He's been a little sick so totally whiny! Not to mention the last 2 weeks almost EVERY night at least once he wakes up & trys to crawl into our bed. Then when I walk him back to his room he demands I lay down w/ him"a little bit" & screams at me to close my eyes, of course waking everyone in the house. Ok, enough trash talking. I love my little Doe Doe!

We all got our hiking shoes on & headed to "A" Mountain on Mill Ave. Walk a hike. Up the hill was really fun...HA HA HA! Noah looked so freak'n cute! His legs are so short & the mountain was so steep that it looked so funny watching him walk up the mountain. About half way up he looked at me & said "Mommy, I want to hold you!" SO CUTE! Andrew decided to run up, against our judgement & as you can see didn't handle it to well. Isabella on the other hand paced herself & conquered the mountain & Andrew! I think Maggie got the most exercise of us all. All the smiling got her exhausted! After a great hike our appetites were fed w/ Oreganos & Cold Stone!We got home & I passed out on the couch while daddy took Bella out to get more cookie sales. What a good dad! Unfortunately my nap showed me that I'm getting sick! Maggie is runny & crusty too. This is not gonna be a good week.

Superbowl Bound!

Can you believe it? The Cardinals are in the Superbowl! I'm so excited. Today Aunt Heidy, Tiana, Monique, Brian & Eva came over to watch the game. Daddy made is world famous burgers & they were sooooooo good! It was such a great game! During 1/2 time Daddy, Andrew & Brian played some catch while Noah & Isabella played in the leaves. Funny how falls comes so late in AZ. After the game Aunt Heidy, Eva, Monique & I went to see Twilight...AGAIN! Eva hadn't seen it yet so we were all gitty & acted like it was our first time.

We weren't the only one having a good time last weekend. While we were gone Grandma Mary stayed at the house w/ you guys Wednesday night thru Friday. From there Isabella spent the night Friday night with Rhyan so that Ms. Marguerite to take the girls to the Cookie Kickoff. This is Isabella's first year in Girl Scouts (Daisey's). Andrew spent Friday night w/ Brenden & Jordan & Noah & Maggs went to Aunt Heidy's. On Saturday night you guys went to Brenden's Baptism. Afterward you all went to Georgie's for dinner & a party. Ms. Rene sent me these pics & it looks like you guys had a ton of fun!

Brady & Braxton Rumsey have arrived!

This morning at 3:19am & 3:24am Brady Edward (love that middle name) & Braxton James entered this world to an exhausted mommy & very proud daddy! After pushing for over 3 hours, Jacquie finally got to meet her amazing new identical twin boys. Brady Edward weighed in at 3lbs 12oz & Braxton James at 4lbs 5oz & both at 18 inches longs.

Stephen & I got to meet the boys today & they are doing super! Braxton, even though a bit bigger than Brady had to be put on oxygen to help with his breathing. Good news though, according to the doctors the breathing machine will be removed tonight! Todd & Jacquie are just gitty! Jacquie looked so beautiful! I'm not just saying that either. She had no makeup on & her hair pulled back but I've NEVER seen her look as pretty.

Tonight you & I layed on the floor looking at Maggie sitting on my tummy. You were so soft and sweet & with tears in your eyes and a very gentle tone you said you had to ask me something. "Mommy, is Maggie blind?" First of all of I want you to know what I told you is true. Believe it with all of your heart! How amazing that at the moment she looked at you & flashed a smile & in baby babble she told she she was just fine! Life happens son & it's not always how we plan it. The great thing is that God has even better plans in store for us than we could ever imagine. I can't wait to see what he has for you & your brother and sisters. My sweet, precious boy, I cannot tell you how much I love you & appreciate the compassion you have for others. Most people can't see past your wild behavior & constant complaining but I do! Goodbye Beach!

Today I woke up feeling even worse than yesterday! My heart felt like it was going to rip out of my chest. I wanted to just zap myself home. I knew that if daddy & I didn't make one last trip to the beach before we left we'd regret it.

We stopped by this little fishmarket literally on the water. Dad bought some shrimp & cod to grill up for dinner tomorrow. CAN'T WAIT! Believe it or not this entire trip I didn't even stick my toes in the sand. I couldn't leave w/ out doing it. Dad met a pelican at the beach. He wasn't too fond of dad though.

Home at last. I got to see all of your beautiful faces & give lots of hugs & kisses. Don't worry guys I'm sure we won't need another vacation for at least 3 weeks. HA HA HA!

This entire trip I've missed you guys so much, even to tears. But today the feeling is getting a little overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I love being away w/ daddy but you kids really have a piece of my soul & it's starting to hurt inside.

No rush out of the house today. Why when you have a view like this! It was in the mid 80's today! It's warmer here than in AZ. We had to suck it up!

This is our last full day here so we had to make it count! I had such a great time yesterday watching football that I (that's right, me) wanted to go back to Newport & watch more. What the heck is that all about? We decided to go to Sharkeez this time cause it's a Steelers bar & daddy wouldn't get pummeled there for rooting them on. I kinda became a Charger fan today. I loved seeing & hearing the crowd go wild for their team. So...first I like the Cardinals & then the Chargers. The Cardinals will always have my heart as long as they keep Kurt Warner. He's so cool! We met this really cool guy Doug that lives 7 houses down from the Newport Pier on the beach. He was a really cool guy & invited us over after the game w/ some friends to check out his pad. Not bad! Kind of hard not to get jealous, we were standing on his balcony! Imagine having that for a back yard!

It was a beautiful morning so we started our day off by walking down to the Dana Point Wharf. The walk down wasn't so bad as the walk home. All uphill! That's ok cause we had breakfast right on the harbor & got to soak up some sun & watch all the boats come it. It was a pretty good 5 to 6 mile walk but I loved getting the exercise!

So I told daddy that I'd give in & check out the Cardinals game today. Todd told him about this really cool place in Newport Beach called Mutt Lynches. Daddy was looking forward to it all day. I just kinda went along for the ride. So glad I did because I had SUCH A BLAST! Mutts was so fun! The crowd was wild! What a fun place to go. I'm sure we'll be back. Maybe tomorrow for the Chargers game. I think I'm actually beginning to like football...Wait...Did I say that? AHHHHHH!

There was this crazy old bird guy out selling photo opps w/ his birds. He was kinda freaky & didn't like daddy at all. At least we got a couple cool pics! I even got a kiss!

We got tickets to see a Sublime tribute band called 40 ozs to Freedom & they were Fan -tastic! I had such a blast! One of my favorite nights so far! We gotta check them out when they come to Phoenix. Super fun & talented guys!

Look at the amazing drink I woke up to! A fresh squeezed "Mimosa a la Stephen"!

Whale watching was on the agenda for today but we just couldn't decide what time to go. We headed to the Dana Point Warf w/ the intent to go on the 10am boat. Once we got there we just couldn't resist the urge to shop. Daddy found out about a cute little thrift store right off of PCH in Laguna. We heard that a lot of the locals take some really nice, expensive stuff so we buckled & went shopping. Once there time just got ahead of us & so we decided to skip the noon boat & go to lunch. Our FAVORITE California destination, The Cliffs in Laguna Beach. The view is so great & so are the martinis & buschetta. It's our tradition to go & we ate lunch in the sun w/ the most incredible view in Cali. Not to mention my hot hubby!

So glad we waited & went on the last boat of the day at 2pm. We were the only boat of the day to see a Gray Whale migrating south to Mexico. It was so amazing! She never showed us her tail but she kept coming up out of the water & showing us her entire back. We were only about 30 yards away! It was so cool!

Mike, Natalie & cousins Maria & Tati came out tonight to meet us for Sushi & fun. Everyone had something to celebrate! Natalie is 7 months pregnant w/ their 2nd baby & she looked so cute. Maria signed her final divorce papers that day & she was ready to let loose! Tati was just happy to see us & be on Christmas break from the grind of college. She's going for her Masters in Anthropology now. I'm so proud to call her my cousin. We made a toast to New Beginnings, Happy Endings & Friends! Kendra & Joey were supposed to meet up too but Kendra got super sick! We missed her so much! After dinner we headed to this little Irish pub for karaoke! What a blast! Miss you guys already!

Relaxation at last!

It only took us 5 1/2 hours to get to the house in Dana Point. After we got there & settled in we went to this little neighborhood bar called Swallows in hope to hear some live music. Unfortunately the guy never showed. We thought it was gonna be a bust but we ended up meeting some really nice people & had a great time just chatting w/ the locals.

We woke up & started w/ the first thing on the agenda. Yep that's right, the agenda. Daddy is so cute & planned out every day. We went to the Orange County Fruit Market & bought the yummiest & hugest strawberries I'd ever seen. Daddy bought some nectarines cause he wanted to make Mimosas for breakfast the next morning. It was a bit overcast so we decided to go see the movie Valkyrie. Then we had lunch & beer tasting at a really cool brewery. What a fun day!

Today's the day! I'm so excited! Daddy & I are off to celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary! No kiddos for 5 days! No offense guys but we need a break!

But first...Maggie had 2 doctors appointments. Dr. Mancuso, Maggie's ENT wants to put tubes in her ears. We are going to coordinate w/ Phoenix Children's Hospital to do the tube, get her tongue clipped, do her EEG & get her MRI done. Dr. Mancuso is so AWESOME! I LOVE him! What a great doctor.

Monday Fun

We started our Monday morning like any other. Andrew & Bella off to school, Noah to preschool w/ Debbie & Maggie & me off to FBC for Infant Class. Maggie's made lots of friends like Lorenzo, Sidney, Noah & Lucy; just to name of few. We start out with music lead by Ms. Rebecca. Always our favorite part. Ms Rebecca even got some one of one time w/ Maggie & played the guitar while mommy bounced her on the big ball. Maggie wasn't a huge fan. In fact, she screamed the entire time. Next we try the light station where Ms. Maggs gets to press the big button & turns lights on. She seems to be really getting it! She also had her first swing ride today & really didn't seem to care much either way. God, she's so stinking cute!!! Grandma Mary visited the FBC with us a couple months back & loved it so much that she now volunteers there every Monday morning. It's fun to see grandma bright & shiny on Monday mornings!

From there I headed to get my hair chopped by Karen. I LOVE IT! It's super short but so much fun. I don't think I'll ever go back to long hair. I feel so young. When I picked up Andrew & Isabella today from school they freaked out. Andrew said I don't look like his mom anymore. I told him I was now a "YOUNG HOT MAMA!"

Duct Tape

Today we went to church & Harrison came home with us. Andrew & Harrison went to NURF WAR against Isabella & Faith. Even though it was a rainy day they ran around outside & shot eachother for at least a few hours. Then you kids were off to CONNECT at church & all I know is that Andrew got "Duct Taped". Michelle sent me these pics. Wish I could've been there to see it.

I get my haircut tomorrow. Probably gonna go pretty short!

Fiesta Bowl Parade

This morning we went to Phoenix to see the Fiesta Bowl Parade w/ Aunt Heidy and Monique. It was such a beautiful day! The sun was shining & it even got a little hot after awhile. While we waited for the parade to start we ran into a guy that had pythons and everyone got to hold them. Noah wasn't scared at all! Neither was Isabella. She even got to be the guys assistant while he did a funny demonstration. Andrew on the other hand would hold the snake but NO WAY was he putting it around his neck. Especially the big one. Either way, I was really impressed!

David Henry from Disney Channel's, Wizards of Waverly Place was in the parade & Isabella and Monique were so excited. I have to say I was pretty stoked too! I can't help but be a fan of all the Disney Channel Shows. Andrew's favorite part was the Star Wars part. He even got a hand shake from Anakin Skywalker. Daddy's loved the Budweiser truck the best. He says he loves the big Clydesdales but I know its what those horses are pulling that he loves! Isabella got a baton & loved watching the band baton twirlers. She's getting so great at it! She's even teaching Maggie a thing or two!

Daddy had to go back to work today & we did too. We cleaned the house & took down all of our Christmas decorations. We wanted the house to be spotless when daddy got home & it was! He was so impressed. We all stayed in our pj's all day while we cleaned, even Maggie.

Brian, Eva, Todd & Jacquie came over tonight for burgers & a game of Apples to Apples. Jacquie is pregnant with Brady & Braxton. She looks so cute & says she loves being pregnant! Can't wait to meet the boys!

10 years holding tight!

Not only is today New Year's Day but it daddy & my 10 year anniversary! We all slept in until about 9am & slowly rolled out of bed. You guys are sucking up your last couple late days before you head back to school on Monday. We weren't sure what we wanted to do today but we wanted to get out of the house. We packed the bikes & scooters in the car & headed out. On our way we saw a field of horses & daddy wanted ALL of you to see them including Maggie so he pulled over to check them out. Maggie was the only one out of the car...LUCKY!

We took you guys to San Tan Mall & let you run around & be crazy for a little. Daddy wrestled with you guys & Andrew even got him down. While I was at the car getting Maggie's diaper bag Noah went up to a stranger & handed him his wet diaper. He apparently had gone behind the play area, pulled his pants down & took it off! Daddy saw this from across way & was mortified! Glad I happened to step away for a moment!

We had a small picnic at the park & you guys played & rode your bikes & scooters all around. Isabella finally mastered the Monkey Bars. I am soooo proud of her. She's been working on that for a while now! CONGRATS BABY! Maggie gets more & more beautiful everyday! She even smiled for all of the pics I was tourturing her with.

Dave & Kim Z called & invited daddy & I out for our anniversary. They treated us to dinner at Roka Akor (Sushi). It was great food & even better company! God really has blessed us with such great friends.

New Year's Eve 2008

Michelle came over during the day today w/ Marli & Izabele. The girls all chased Andrew around with wooden spoons. They must know how bad that kids needs a spanking. Noah ran all over the house just trying to keep up & get in on the action. Maggie has been drooling a lot more. I think she may be cutting another tooth! The fact that she cut one before her first Birthday is HUGE. None of you other kids did that! Maggie's the first! Maggie also sat for awhile in her "Bumbo" chair which she's not a huge fan of. Her head starts to get a little heavy and she starts to give up. She's getting much better though. Marli loved sitting w/ Maggie & feeding. She's such a sweet little girl. I keep telling her that she's my future daughter-in-law. LOL!

It was your first ever New Year's Eve that you've celebrated. Usually daddy & I go out w/ friends but this year we felt like hanging with you kiddos. Uncle Matt, Aunt Chrissy & Miles got to our house around 8. Miles loved the blowers! I think it was more the shiny streamers more than the sound of them. He just kept shaking it & laughing. He even got Uncle Matt in the face a couple of times. Noah would not leave him alone. He kept stealing every toy Miles would put in his hands. Noah really is a sweet boy but is only 2. I think we all forget that sometimes & are a little on the impatient side with him. Poor boy.

Michelle got to the house shortly after & of course brought Marli & Izabele. They brought their new Wii & Guitar Hero. You guys went to town, even daddy! Actually, we had to tell daddy to share a couple of times. We roasted marshmellows & made smores and Isabella & Izabele danced to the music Marli, Andrew & Daddy were playing on the Guitar Hero. We couldn't quite make it to midnight. Daddy had been up since 4am & Michelle could barely keep her eyes open. So...by 11:30 we had you guys make your toast to the New Year & pop the poppers.

After Michelle left we toughed it out until midnight & watched the ball drop again at Time Square. Andrew said his New Year's resolution is to be nice to Isabella & not be so selfish, Isabella said that she wanted to read her Bible more (LOVE IT!). I hope you guys stick to it.

Friends & Fun

Today we went over to our friends the Martinson's House. Isabella & Rhyan are best buddies & so are Andrew & Justice. Of course mommy & Marguerite are great friends too. You kids always have such a blast whenever you get to hang out w/ them. Not only did you guys get to hang out w/ Rhy & Justice but Myra one of your other good buddies was there to play too! When we arrived their dad Brian already had the ATV's charged up & the "CAUTION" signs out ready for you guys to all start tearing it up outside. Marguerite made us her homemade bean burros. Oh my God...they are the BEST! Noah missed his nap & made sure we all knew it. He threw a fit whenever he had to share the ATV. Maggie as always was the easiest baby ever & just chilled outside & enjoyed the fresh air.

From there we left & headed to Brenden & Isabella's (Lundell) Birthday Party at Peter Piper Pizza. The Copes & Lundell's are so special to us. They are like our 2nd family. Jordan & Brenden are more like brothers to you guys then friends. You guys barely came to the table to eat the pizza & cake. Of course you were off playing video games & shopping for toys with your tickets, which was fine by me. I got to hang out & chat w/ Rene, Karen & David, Alecia & Rob, Georgie & Dwayne, Aunt Heidy & Monique. Noah finally got to hang out w/ "HIS KORBI", besides Papa, his favorite person in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD! It was so funny cause we looked over to make sure the little ones (Noah, Korbin & Isabella L.) were ok & they were all sitting on that little carousel banging it & trying to make it go. I swear they rode it like 10 times! We have such GREAT friends! How did we get so lucky?

You kids had fun today playing w/ all of your toys from Christmas. I haven't been able to get Andrew off of the XBOX 360 for days. I finally had to start bribing & threatening him. He did step away from the game a couple times today to do chores, feed Maggie, read Noah a story & play school w/ Bella. Speaking of school, Bella got this awesome "School Play Set" from Grandpa Rick & Grandma Mary. SHE LOVES IT! I get asked AT LEAST twice a day to play. She's so cute taking role, giving spelling test & handing out math worksheets. She also loves sitting next to Andrew & playing w/ her DS while he plays the XBOX. Noah loves his train set. We put it together again today & he played for at least 30 minutes w/out getting up. Now for Noah, that's AMAZING! As for Maggs, she was all smiles for daddy when he got home. She's getting so big & I really think she's starting to know her name or maybe it's just daddy's voice that really gets her attention!

After daddy gave Maggs lovin', he started on dinner. I know that seems backwards but he loves to do it & I honestly I don't mind one bit! How lucky am I. I headed to the gym w/ Aunt Heidy & Monique to a Salsa Aerobics class. HA HA HA! Half the time I didn't know what the heck I was doing but danced around having fun & looking like an idiot. I loved it & got a great workout. I honestly almost passed out a couple of times. Monique just laughed at me because the whole time I kept shakin' my booty & making stupid faces. It's funny how when I was younger I was always so concerned about how I looked at the gym. Now, I don't care at all & I LOVE IT! I had a blast!

SURPRISE... That's what I heard when I walked through the door. All of my beautiful children were sitting at a candlelit table. Daddy prepared the most awesome Chicken Marsala, garlic linguine pasta, a spinach salad, french bread & a glass of Pinot Noir. YUM! Did I mention how lucky I am?

Another day in the sun

Today we went to church where of course we were 20 minutes late. Andrew thinks hurry up & take a shower means, stay in there for 15 minutes & use all the hot water :) Daddy & I have still not mastered getting 4 kids ready in the mornings. After church we went to see Aunt Chrissy sing at the Duck & Decanter in Phoenix. Her new band, Bulletproof Soul, played all of their original music. It was really fun & nice to sit outside in the sun. There was a really cute grass courtyard so we were able enjoy the show w/ out worrying about where Noah was at all times. Daddy & Andrew started rough housing & Dad was chasing him all over. I guess he forgot he had on his dress shoes & he flipped right on his back in the middle of the parking lot. He was down for at least 45 seconds & thats when I started to get concerned. Finally he made it back on his feet but has a bruised butt & numb hands. I keep telling daddy that he's not 20 anymore but he never listens. It was a fun, relaxing day, at least for me.

We came home & played Andrew's new DVD game of "Deal or No Deal". Andrew & I vs. Daddy & Bella. Of course daddy had to push his luck & only walked w/ $50,000 while Andrew & I kept with our original plan to stay at anything over $150,000. We won with $184,000. Too bad it isn't real money!!!

Fun Saturday Morning

We are trying to be more active as a family & the best days to do it are Saturdays. So...today we bundled you guys up & headed to Tempe for the Grand Opening of the Phoenix Light Rail. It was freezing this morning, literally 38 degrees but it didn't stop us from having fun. They had all sorts of booths we things from science experiments & craft stations to live music & a video game truck (which of course Andrew spotted from a mile away)! Noah made me a beautiful choo choo train ornament and him & Bella painted some train whistles. Andrew of course is way too cool & old for that kinda stuff. Maggs just chilled in her stroller all bundled up like a burrito.

Today was a little different from the last few years. Grandma Mimi & Papa were out of town so Aunt Heidy, Tiana & Monique spent the night last night. They got to experience our Lent family tradition. Andrew of course was up at 5:45 pacing the halls. Daddy & I pretended to be asleep while Andrew just stood at our door & hoped that his stares would wake us. I finally had to hide my smile & tell him to "GO BACK TO BED". Again at 7:00 I could hear the heavy breathing & the waiting was just too much for him. He ran in our room & begged us to hurry downstairs & make the coffee so he could wake Isabella, Noah & Maggie. I started to tease him & tell him that this year we were gonna make breakfast before we opened presents. He about had a heart attack! Our coffee pot broke so Andrew had to wait patiently 'til daddy got home w/ our order from Starbucks! Finally you kids heard the clanking of the spoon on dad's coffee mug & you were down the stairs w/ laughing & jumping. Dad decided to read us all the Christmas story to start the morning out right & surprisingly you all listened, even Noah. Although he couldn't take his eyes off the tree! Santa was really generous this year. Andrew got the XBOX 360 he's been begging for for over a year, Isabella got a pink DS & Noah and Maggie got a Little Tikes Playhouse (among many other gifts). HOW FUN!!!! I made Belguim Waffles & Daddy made left over pot roast over hash browns & eggs. YUM!!!! Then it was time to rest until we were off to Grandma Mary & Grandpa Ricks for dinner with them, Uncle Matt, Aunt Chrissy, Miles, Uncle Matt's mom, Marie, Uncle Noel, Heather, Angel & Wyatt. Grandpa made you all a pair of stilts, w/ the exception of Maggie of course. Even Noah got a pair but wasn't too thrilled about standing out in the cold to attempt them. Andrew & Isabella got a good hour of practice before dinner & then were out practicing even more. Andrew got about 5 steps at once & Isabella was up to 3. Pretty impressive. I think you guys will be doing laps around the neighborhood in less than a week. Miles was so cute & just loved sitting with Gradpa Rick & reading all his new books. We got Wyatt a matching foam lightsaber & all the kids went to town on eachother. It was so fun watching you all run in & out of the house. I think daddy, Uncle Noel & Uncle Matt were a little jealous they didn't get their own foam light sabers! Grandma Mary made Noah the most awesome quilt. Now all of the kids have them & will cherish them for years to come!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is already here! This year is almost to an end. Where did the time go? Today was a busy one starting with an appointment for Maggie. Had to make sure the helmet was fitting ok. After a few minor adjustments we were out the door & ready to start our Christmas. We went to the Christmas Eve service & were joined my Monique, Aunt Heidy, Grandpa Rick, Grandma Mary & daddy's old friend Stacie & her family visiting from Iowa. The service was nice but Monique ended up getting sick & throwing up in the bathroom from too much fog...Too much effects for our taste but a nice service all the same. We came home to daddy's AWESOME roast, twice baked potatoes & Aunt Heidy's yummy green bean casserole. Poor Tiana had to work (the 2nd Christmas Eve in a row) at Caraba's so we went there for dessert. Noah ate his chocolate cake in almost one bite & for once Andrew passed on dessert. I swear Andrew is becoming more & more like daddy everyday! What's wrong w/ you boys? Dessert is the best part of the meal!!! Isabella enjoyed hers & even had a couple of bites of mine. Then we were off to get ready for Santa. We left out cookies for Santa & carrots for the reindeer. I think they'll eat them all this year. I guess we'll see in the morning!

HOPE

The word "Hope" is really personal to me. We gave Maggie the middle name "Hope" because we are putting our hope in God for her complete healing. We also have hope for our marriage, our finaces & our future. I have grown to LOVE some amazing scriptures that reference hope, like Psalms 78:7 "So each generation should set it's HOPE anew on God, not forgetting His glorious miracles and obeying His commands." But, my absolute favorite is Hebrews 10:23, "Hold tight without wavering to the HOPE we affirm. For God can be trusted to keep His promises."

So...for Christmas Stephen got me a little something that will always be a reminder to me to keep my HOPE in God! Amen!

Gingerbread House

We've finally mastered it! This is our 4th year of attempting the darn thing & finally! Andrew & Isabella look forward to this EVERY year. We had so much fun although Noah did drop ALL of the candy on the floor & broke one of the trees. No biggie cuz this baby turned out AWESOME! Maggie just chilled & enjoyed her little break w/ from the helmet. We followed up the construction w/ a drive around town to look at Christmas lights. We started the night off w/ a trip to Starbucks for hot cocoa & coffee. We went to Natal St. in Chandler & the kids were in awe...especially Noah. Every single house was decorated so awesome. Afterwards we took the kids to the Mormon Temple to walk around & enjoy their beautiful display. The kids had a blast & so did we.

Maggs got her helmet & we both cried & cried. I was actually a little excited to get it but when the girl walked in w/ it I LOST IT! It was so big & akward. I love to kiss on Maggies checks & face & behind her ears & I couldn't. Maggie screamed cause the girl kept taking it off & the sound of the velcro freaked her out. It's been a week now & we're both adjusting a little more. I tried to print out her name to see what vinyl lettering would look like, then I actually got the vinyl & it came off the same day I put it on. A velcro flower will have to do for now. MOMMY LOVES YOU MAGGIE!

Papa & Mimi are off to Colombia for Christmas so before they left the kids got to open 1 of their presents. Noah was not happy about only opening one but the matching Light Sabers he & Andrew got really distracted him. Finally a way for Noah to beat Andrew up! The neighbors probably heard Isabella screaming because she got her first ever Webkinz. She's been wanting one for months. Maggie got an awesome "HOPE" sign. That's my favorite. Aunt Heidy & Monique came too (Tiana had to work). We had dinner & gave our good byes for the next couple of months. We'll miss you Papa & Mimi!

So I haven't touched base in a while. So much going on w/ Doctors appointments & Thanksgiving. I'll post pics soon. We had a lot of fun w/ the family. Uncle Henry, Aunt Marissa & the kids came out from Cali along w/ Tati & Lisa. So fun watching Andrew try & hang w/ the older boys (Rodney, Nathan & Caleb) & seeing Isabella & Abby love all over eachother. They are the same age & just listening to them talk is hillarious. Abby sang us the Star Spangled Banner & said that one day she is gonna be a movie star. She said she can cause she has an incredible voice. She went on to tell us all about the war & how it was the Chinese that bombed New York. Don't you love a child's perspective!?! So funny! Noah just tagged along w/ everyone & of course he & Maggie were the ones who got all the attention. This was Moo's first Thanksgiving & did she look gorgeous! The turkey was great again this year...thanks papa! The world's juiciest turkey ever. Brian & Eva even came out to Heidy's an enjoyed the dinner. I have to say that even through the hussle & bussle of things, I still LOVE the holidays!

The day after Thanksgiving Stephen & I slept in & then hit the Black Friday sales. We got a few things but no super duper deals this year. That's ok we had fun. Stephen & Andrew went on to play flag football w/ Uncle Noel, Angel, Bill, Dave Z & some more friends. Isabella, Paris & Wyatt all played & enjoyed the beautiful day. As for me, I tried to clean up our wreck of a house while Noah napped. FUN FUN FUN!

Then...off to the ASU game w/ Kim & Dave. We had a blast!

Just this past Monday we met w/ Dr. Ellis, Maggie's Developmental Specialist. She's super sweet & is always encouraging us to challenge Miss Maggie. No more laying down. Since she's a delayed we need to have her up & watching the world around her. Also, more daily therapy is needed. The heat is on now. GO MAGGIE!

Did I mention how lucky I am? My husband is the best! What an awesome husband, father, son, brother, friend & man of conviction. I LOVE HIM!

Since my beautiful wife has been under the weather the last few days, I have decided to take a role in the family blog! What a great idea that Lissette started this blog, such an awesome way to be able to look back at our hectic lives and find all of the joy in it. It all starts with Lissette, such an amazing woman. She never gives up and always puts her kids before herself. They are so incredibly lucky to have her as a mother. It's amazing to me, as our 10 year anniversary approaches, that we have always had to share each other (since their have been wonderful kids in the picture for most of the time) and still manage to live, laugh and love. She finds time for me through it all though and teaches me daily what true love is all about. Thank you God for Lissette and for the life You have blessed me with. I love her laugh, her heart, her beautiful brown eyes and her presence.

So I got to the theater around 7:30pm & was greeted by Heidy, Tiana, Monique & some friends. Rene, Karen & Alecia showed up shortly after. There were women of all ages there ready to meet Edward! It was so cool to see everyone so excited! As soon as they opened the doors people were screaming & running to theaters. There were 19 total people w/ us & luckily they let us into a new theater. We had perfect seats & waited another 2 1/2 hours for the movie to start. I LOVED IT! It was so good. I do have to say that there were some cheesey parts & I wasn't totally crazy about who they cast for all the characters. I was disappointed that it was only 2 hours long. I just felt that they rushed through the entire movie. I wish it had been like 3 hours to really show more about Edward & Bella's relationship. Anywhoo...I can't wait for New Moon to come out. A day late

So I didn't have time to blog the events of yesterday. Let's see, lots of errands to run before the big midnight viewing of TWILIGHT. I was so excited all day. I put on my awesome "I Love Edward" tee shirt & got in the mindset of Isabella Swan! Noah was a good boy today but decided to pee all over the rug right before Maggie's FBC (Foundation for Blind Children) therapy. So much for keeping his diaper off. Andrew & Isabella came home w/ lots of homework but managed to wrestle a bit. Andrew still pretends that he doesn't like his sister but I know the truth. As for Isabella, she doesn't try & hide her feelings. She adores him & thinks he's the most hillarious thing in the world!

Uneventful Day (at least for me...the grandparents might disagree)

I LOVE having a day w/ nothing on the agenda & for me it just doesn't happen very often. Sooooo...I canceled all of our appointments today & me, Noah & "Moo" spent the day w/ Papa & Mimi. We arrived to Belgium Waffles w/ strawberries on top & a cold glass of mango orange juice. Papa & Noah hit the sandbox & played outside for hours. Where in the heck does my dad get all his energy from? "Moo", grandma & I hung out inside going through all of Grandma Mimi's bags of clothes & toys for the kids in Colombia. They are leaving Dec 9th & will spend their first ever Christmas away from home. I'm really excited for them cause they are really giving a Christmas to some kids that have never had one before. It was fun hanging out & then being served a steak lunch w/ fried rice & salad. Every time we go there they feed us like KINGS & QUEENS. I love it! We kept Noah's diaper off all day & he didn't have any accidents. Problem is that he didn't go in the toilet either (at least at Papa & Mimi's). Noah fell asleep to "The Little Rascals" w/no diaper & no problems. We drive all the way home & no problems. We get home & I see him hiding behind the kitchen table on the chair & yep, you guessed it, pee everywhere! It was a whole days worth! I cleaned it all up & Noah is nowhere to be found & then I hear him in the bathroom. He had put his little toilet insert in on the toilet & was pooping on the toilet!!!! What a big boy!!!! A lolipop was the award of the day & he enjoyed it while dancing naked! Maggie got another shot at peas & did pretty well but not as great as yesterday. Don't worry Maggs, practice makes perfect! Well Noah decided to give it another shot of peeing on the toilet but this time only made it to the bathroom. He peed all over the wall next to the toilet. At least his aim is getting closer :)

Grandma Mary picked up Andrew & Isabella from school & took them to play tennis & then out to dinner. As if Grandma Mary didn't already bite off a lot today, she's gonna babysit so that Stephen & I can go on a date! YIPEEE! It's so amazing that my kids have such INCREDIBLE grandparents that love them so much & sew into their lives. They are blessed & so are we!

Today was a pretty good day. Wisked Andrew & Isabella off to school after making pancakes for breakfast (different from their normal cereal & protien shake). We were actually not rushing around this morning & I honestly think it's cause I started my morning off with prayer. It seems that when I do, God always provides time in my day. Funny how that works! Noah, Maggie & I ran some errands & then came home & played & ate lunch. Maggie had OT (Occupational Therapy) w/ Connie at noon & Maggie had her first baby food!!! The first Lent kid to actually like peas! She loved them & she ate amazing! Connie was so excited & said that Moo was doing awesome. She even got a little pissed when we stopped feeding her. She wanted seconds! After about 20 minutes of Noah beating me w/ a wooden sword, it was nap time! I got to work on my hair clips for a little while. I'm doing new ones w/ velvet ribbon & rhinestones. SO CUTE!!! I'll attach pics for you all to check out. Something crawled up my bottom & I even decided to make a beautiful meal for my man, lasagna & a spinach salad. Yum Yum (don't get used to that Stephen, it won't happen very often)! After Isabella reading Daddy a story, Stephen took her & Noah to get ice cream for shakes while Andrew & I stayed home & wrestled. I tricked Andrew & told him that I was pregnant again. He about had a heart attack! I told him that's why my belly is so big. I seriously had him going for at least 15 minutes, HA HA HA! Fed Maggie again but she didn't eat as much this time & read Mr. Noah a couple of books.

Wait...silence. They are off to bed & I'm gonna sit on my butt & relax. Thank you Lord for my beautiful family! Oh wait a minute, I hear arguing, LOL! That's our life :)
